The Town Office will be closed at noon on Friday, December 22nd. We will be closed all day on Tuesday, December 26th and Tuesday, January 2nd for the holidays.

DOG REGISTRATIONS
FRIENDLY REMINDER:
PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR DOGS MUST BE LICENSED BY DECEMBER 31ST OR THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $25 FEE PER DOG ISSUED BY THE STATE.
Closer to the holidays we will be closed during some regular business days so please plan accordingly - we cannot waive the state fee.
Kris Kringle Fair - Saturday, December 2, 2023
Christmas is just around the corner and those special, unique items for everyone on the gift list could be at Monson's Annual Kris Kringle Market on Saturday, December 2nd 2023 at the Monson Gym from 9am to 3pm.
Kris Kringle's Market will open with a variety of crafts such as folk art, fabric items, knitted items, homemade food, wreaths, jewelry, wooden items and more!
The market committee will be serving lunch starting at 11am. There will be cookie decorating for the kids from 12-12:30pm and Santa Claus arrives at 1pm for the youngsters and young-at-heart.
All entries for the gingerbread house contest must be at the gym by 10am. Ribbons will be awarded to the top three creative and well-crafted entries.
A holiday village will be created with the entries and the theme for this year's competition is "A Winter Wonderland". Gingerbread contest rules can be found on the Town of Monson's website/Facebook page.
The Kris Kringle committee will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets and door prizes will be awarded hourly. For further information call Annalee Libby at 997-3268 or email her at libby04406@gmail.com.

NOVEMBER 13, 3-7:30 p.m., COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS, GYM
The Town of Monson invites residents to participate in two community projects on Monday, November 13, from 3-7:30 p.m. at the Gym, with food provided.
From 3-5 p.m., the Village Partnership, with Maine DOT and our consultants from Gorrill Palmer, will present initial concepts and possible redesigns to enhance traffic and pedestrian safety through the village from the Blanchard Road to the Elliotsville Road. This will be the first chance for all of us to see the proposals, provide feedback, and discuss possible federal and state funding opportunities.
We will bring in food at 5 p.m. for all to join in. Please join us for any portion of the meetings you can.
From 5:30 to 730, our partners from Eastern Maine Development Corporation and the Maine Community Resilience Partnership will lead a workshop on setting community priorities for which we might receive state grants and reduce local property taxes. Input from residents will set our priorities.
Rescheduled Select Board Meeting
The Select Board has rescheduled their regular monthly meeting from Thursday, November 9, to Wednesday, November 15, at 5 p.m. at the Town Office meeting room.
November 7th Election
Referendum Voting will be held Tuesday, November 7th at the Monson Gym - 8am to 8pm
Veteran’s Day Closure
The Town Office will be closed on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veteran's Day! Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
Food Pantry Donations Requested
We are collecting food and monetary donations for the Sangerville Food Pantry. If you would like to help you can drop donations off to the Town Office until Friday, November 17th.

Bids Being Accepted for Truck
Accepting bids for:
2010 Ford F-550 V10 with Dump Body, 109,000 Miles, including 9.5' Fisher V Plow and 2-yard Down Easter sander.
Equipment can be viewed behind the Town Office. The town reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
Deadline for bids is Thursday, November 9th at 5pm.

Dog tags are in!
NEW DOG LICENSE TAGS ARE IN! You may start licensing dogs on Tuesday, October 17th. $6 for spayed/neutered, $11 for unaltered.
Please remember your dogs must be licensed by December 31st or there will be an additional $25 fee PER DOG issued by the State.
SkillFire for Kids - October 21st at 11am

Maine Craft Weekend October 7th & 8th

2023 Tax Bills
The Town of Monson mailed property tax bills this week. The 30-day two-percent (2%) discount period runs until September 17, 2023. Interest will accrue beginning October 2, 2023.
Many people have inquired, and we appreciate your prompt response. We want you to know the bills have been mailed, and if you are expecting a bill and do not receive a bill by next week, please contact the town office to make sure we have your correct mailing address. Thank you.
Beach Float
The Town of Monson is going to be accepting bids for the former beach float, which can be seen at the beach. Sealed bids need to be dropped off at the Town Office by 5pm on Thursday, August 31st.
Float is 9’ by 7’4”
